Privacy
This is a personal blog. There is nothing here to opt out of.
What the site collects
Almost nothing. There are no analytics on these pages, no comments, no accounts, no newsletter signup. The pages carry no third-party scripts and load no fonts, trackers, or ads from anyone else. Nothing pings home. If you read a post, I do not learn about it from the site itself.
The one mechanism that is always on is the server’s access log. It records what any web server log records: the requesting IP, a timestamp, and the user agent. That is operational plumbing, used to keep the site up and to notice when something is broken or hostile. It is not sold and it is not shared. Logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted.
RSS is a pull, not a push. The feed at /index.xml is fetched by whatever
reader you point at it, and the site learns nothing from that beyond the
single request the reader makes.
What you can do
Mostly nothing, because there is nothing to undo. If you want a log entry
looked at or removed, mail me. The address is michael@barrow.me, and it is
already in the footer of every page.
That is the whole of it. A static site run by one person, with no tracking and no audience to sell, does not need a policy longer than the thing it describes.
